How does FetchValue work?

FetchValue uses advanced image recognition to identify and value your items. Simply take a photo of any item, and we analyze it to provide two price estimates for different selling scenarios.

The process takes just seconds: snap a photo, let us identify the item, and receive detailed pricing across different selling scenarios.

How accurate are valuations?

Our valuations are estimates based on image analysis and current market data. While we strive for accuracy, actual sale prices may vary depending on:

  • Local market conditions
  • Item condition beyond what photos show
  • Buyer demand and seasonality
  • Negotiation between buyer and seller

Important: FetchValue provides estimates, not professional appraisals. For high-value items or insurance purposes, we recommend consulting a certified appraiser.

What do the two price tiers mean?

Every valuation includes two price points to help you understand your item's value in different selling scenarios:

Local Pickup

What you might get selling locally (Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, garage sales). Buyers expect lower prices for the convenience of local pickup.

Online/Mail

Expected price on platforms like eBay or Poshmark. Higher prices to account for shipping and platform fees.

How do credits work?

FetchValue uses a credit system for valuations. Each item valuation uses credits from your account balance.

  • New users receive free credits to try the app
  • Purchase credits through in-app purchases when you need more
  • Earn credits by referring friends with our "Give 5, Get 5" program
  • Credits never expire and remain in your account

View your credit balance anytime in the app's Settings screen.

How do I restore purchases?

If you've reinstalled the app or switched devices, you can restore your previous purchases:

  1. Open FetchValue on your device
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap "Restore Purchases"
  4. Sign in with your Apple ID if prompted

Your credit balance is synced to your account. If you've linked your account with Apple Sign-In or email, your credits will automatically sync across devices.

How do I delete my data?

You have full control over your data. To request deletion:

  1. Email us at admin@scoutdog.ai
  2. Include your account identifier (found in Settings)
  3. We'll process your request within 30 days

Getting Started

New to FetchValue? Here's how to get your first valuation:

  1. Open the app and point your camera at an item you want to value
  2. Take a clear photo showing the entire item in good lighting
  3. Review the identification and confirm or adjust the item details
  4. Get your valuation with two price tiers and condition-based pricing
  5. Save or share your results to reference later

For best results, photograph items against a plain background and include any labels, brand marks, or distinguishing features.

Account and Data

Anonymous by Default

FetchValue works without requiring personal information. By default, you use the app anonymously with a device-based account.

Sync Your Credits

To sync your credits across devices or protect your balance, you can link your account:

  • Apple Sign-In: Quick and private - Apple hides your email if you prefer
  • Email Link: Receive a magic link to verify your email

Once linked, your credits and valuation history sync automatically.
